Sheep's Head Pennisula

The Sheep's Head pennisula is the smaller cousin of the Mizen Head pennisula but none the less beautiful. It stretches 20 miles or so from Bantry along the southern side of Bantry Bay. More information can be found at cork-guide.ie

Kilcrohane

The nearest village to The White House has a post office and three pubs! Bread and milk can be found at the post office along with other essentials. For the children there is the playground and public tennis court and of course if you follow on down the lane next to the playground you get to the pier where there is a beautiful sheltered cove for picnicking and bathing (jumping from the pier is optional).

Durrus

Durrus is found at the head of Dunmanus bay to the south of the Sheep's Head pennisula. There are several good shops for picking up bread and milk after a day out or those important picnic ingredients as you pass on your way to Barley Cove or Schull.

Bantry

Bantry is the largest local town and is situated at the head of the bay. There you will find pretty much all the shops you are likely to need plus some great little places to eat. Bantry House holds music events throughout the summer.
